I have a degree in psychology from New York University, I have taken graduate classes in archetypal astrology, personal and applied mythology, and depth psychology, and I have a certification in Applied Mythology from Pacifica Graduate University where I am currently enrolled in an LMFT program for Counseling Psychology in Depth Psychology. Additionally, I am a certified yoga teacher with an understanding of yogic philosophy.
There is a belief in depth psychology that everyone lives a myth. Freud declared to be living the myth of Oedipus and Jung claimed his life-myth to be Faust. Myths are much more than stories, they are pictures of the psyche and life patterns that have played out since the beginning of time. If we can see the archetypes in our lives, we are enlightened in a way, because now we have the choice - will we fulfill the story of Oedipus, or will we chose a different ending? Will we choose Mars's bravery or blood-thirstiness? Will we give into the vanity of Aphrodite or choose to embrace the love she gives? In knowing the stories, and being able to recognize our unconscious impulses + the archetypes that are guiding us, we become conscious. This is the lunacy of the moon come into solar consciousness.
